VISION

Green Energy

Our project aims to supply zero-emission hydrogen and ammonia for export, maritime use and possibly local distribution.

Ammonia has been handled and transported all over the world for several decades, and infrastructure is therefore in place export handling.

We will build on the experience to secure safe production, handling, and distribution.

Lutelandet allows for large scale production and our first target is to produce at least 200 000 ton of green ammonia per year.

INFO

Technical

HTWO-FUEL AS has developed a project for production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia. The plant will be constructed at Lutelandet, situated at the western coast of Norway, close to the Sognefjord. It will be powered by available and stable renewable hydropower and wind power from the local wind power plant.

Inside the boundaries of the 1 400 000 m² at Lutelandet, HTWO FUEL will play a vital part in the ongoing development of the industrial symbioses that forms the overall strategy for the facility.

AMMONIA ANKER

Ammonia

Ammonia is one of the promising shipping fuels of the future.

Ammonia has a high volumetric energy density, which means that it is comparable to fossil fuels in terms of storage onboard a shipping vessel.

In addition to promising features in the shipping industry, grey ammonia for industry purposes needs to be replaced with green ammonia all over the world, making the export market for ammonia a significant opportunity.

Ammonia made from renewable energy sources is a green energy carrier - often referred to as green ammonia . Lutelandet have access to 100% renewable power, which can be used to make large amounts of green ammonia.

HYDROGEN ANKER

HYDROGEN

Hydrogen is the energy carrier of the future, just as it is the energy carrier of our past and present.

As of today, the hydrogen is locked in the molecules which we have obtained from deep in the ground,  and emit a vast amount of emissions when combusted to release energy.

In the future, hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources can be stored in different energy carriers as ammonia, e-fuels and in its pure form as compressed or liquid hydrogen, and release only water when used.

Hydrogen will therefore contribute to decrease emissions across sectors, and is an essential element in our future, zero-emission society.

ENERGYSTATION ANKER

Energystation

HTwo-Fuel AS plans to gather all the electricity needed for Lutelandet Industrial Area in a single point of distribution, through a large transformer station. The station will transform high-voltage to medium-voltage for local distribution, and serve every industry actor with its needed electricity. This will be efficient and economically advantageous for the industrial actors as it will decrease the footprint and allow more industry space. In addition it will be more user friendly for the single actors to relate to one, local energy company.

WHY HYDROGEN

A different approach

We are all in the middle of a green transition!

Fossil fuels are being replaced by emission-free and emission-neutral solutions.

HTWO-FUEL AS will build a factory in Lutelandet to produce hydrogen-based fuel. The products will contribute to emission reductions in both land and maritime transportation. We will develop the port facility and build an efficient bunkering environment. The energy island, Lutelandet, is a strategically located hub for ship traffic along the west coast of Norway and the Sognefjord. From this location, there are great opportunities to deliver to our local customers and export to European ports.
